The Three Who Came
Kaelen Fung crossed seas seeking sanctuary. William Little brought resources and resolve. Eir and Daniel Ryder brought the craft needed to build where maps and ordinary rules failed.
DEADLY DUTCH HIGH™ · FLAGSHIP WORLD
On the hidden island of Veylmist, Dutch High rises through living fog, old wards, impossible corridors, and generations of secrets. The academy is not merely a setting. It notices who enters.
VEYLMIST · DUTCH HIGH
Veylmist exists beyond ordinary maps, hidden behind fog that seems to decide who may find it. Dutch High was built there as a sanctuary for the gifted, but the island had its own history, its own protections, and its own idea of balance long before the academy existed.
The result is a school where routine and danger overlap: radios speak at the wrong moment, reflections refuse to behave, memories become unreliable, and even a quiet corridor can feel as though it has been waiting for someone.
THE DDH RULE
Nothing attacks openly — until it already owns the space you are standing in.Dutch High is an observing presence, not a passive backdrop.
THE FOUNDATION
The modern story rests on an older pact between Veylmist, its Guardian, and the families who tried to build a sanctuary without claiming the land as their own.
Kaelen Fung crossed seas seeking sanctuary. William Little brought resources and resolve. Eir and Daniel Ryder brought the craft needed to build where maps and ordinary rules failed.
Ancient ruins and living wards revealed that Veylmist already had protectors. The island could be respected and defended, but never truly possessed.
A prophecy bound the Fung line to the island: one to keep the heart, one to keep the gate. Generations later, that legacy echoes through Nor and Kim Fung.
Gothic spires, bridges swallowed by fog, and halls threaded with older wards became the academy known today — a place that remembers far more than its students do.
CORE CHARACTER FILES
The DDH cast experiences the school through different emotional filters. These three characters form a central lens into Dutch High’s supernatural pressure.
Protective, skeptical, and deeply intuitive. Nor tends to shoulder responsibility before asking anyone else to carry it with her.
Quiet, observant, and analytical. Kim records what others miss and lives with the burden of seeing possibilities before they become reality.
Emotionally perceptive and spiritually powerful. Ema can sense echoes, curses, and pain that other people would rather leave buried.
